New Parking Lot Procedures For Student Pick-Up and Drop-Off
The area closest to the admin building will be closed off for student safety for a short time before school and after school. We have many students walking to/from classes/cars and we are doing this to protect our students. If that means a little longer line and wait in your cars, a little more inconvenience, we know you will understand that this new procedure is about protecting the safety of your children and the children of others. Thank you for your gracious cooperation and patience.

Ventura County Initiative on Nuclear Preparedness
The purpose of this message is to inform you about the subject of a recent meeting held in county offices in Ventura. Dr. Robert Levin, the County Public Health Officer, called together representatives from school districts and other organizations to present his educational campaign concerning nuclear preparedness. He has decided to equate the county’s responsibility to prepare for a nuclear attack to that of earthquakes and fire safety. In his letter to school superintendents, he asked that parents of all school children be informed about his initiative. However, he emphasized that he has “absolutely zero knowledge of any terrorist threat to Ventura County or any other county in the nation.” If relevant information becomes important to share with parents, NHS Administration will do so immediately. In the meantime, there is no reason to be alarmed. The routine fire/earthquake/lock-down drill scheduled for 9/19/2013 at Nordhoff is/was unrelated to this initiative.
