TODAY:      This year’s final installment of the Better Science Guest Lecture Series is happening tomorrow in the I Building from 9:00-10:00 AM.  Sarah Stoltz, a 2006 NHS graduate with a Bachelor’s degree from UCSB (and Division 1 NCAA Soccer star) and a Master’s from USC, will talk about her groundbreaking work with spinal column implants and other medial device wonders in San Diego.  Come learn and be inspired how math and science are used in the medical industry to make our lives better.  Get a permission/entry slip today from any science teacher at Nordhoff.


Please get a seminar pass from your destination teacher today if you want to seminar with that teacher Friday.  Plan ahead!


“What is the only state (in the United States) with a one-syllable name?”  Maine.  Sign up your team of 3 people for the Trivia Tournament today—students, friends, family members and NHS staff in any combination—or see Mrs. Nelson or Mrs. Cull-Michels for a team assignment.  Entry is $10.00 per person and it’s a fundraiser for the senior class.  The Trivia Tournament will be in the cafeteria during Spring Showcase on May 22 and will last 45 minutes.  Our own Dr. Bangser will announce.  All are welcome!

THIS FRIDAY, MAY 18, ONE NIGHT ONLY!  See “Plays About Us” in the cafeteria.  Student produced & directed, these are simple, funny plays about real teens.  7:00 p.m., tickets are only $5, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.


Buddy Backpacks Fundraiser – Deadline is tomorrow.  Please donate your new/unused school supplies and/or money to give to the homeless kids in the Ojai Community.  Anything helps!  Thank you so much! – Stephanie Cox


Do you have any old jeans you never wear?  If so, bring them to school and drop them off in the boxes around campus.  The Social Justice Club will give your jeans to Jeans for Teens, an organization that gives underprivileged teens your jeans!


Please bring in your old shoes and place them in the dumpster outside the cafeteria.  This is a fundraiser for Relay for Life.  All shoes will be donated to a company that will pay us 50 cents per pound of shoes.  The company will then re-sole the shoes and give them to people in need.  All proceeds go to Relay for Life.


Our final CAMPUS BEAUTIFICATION DAY for the school year is this Saturday from 8:00-2:00.  Come help Mr. Musick & the Nordhoff Parent Association make our great campus even better for next week’s Spring Showcase.  Refreshments & lunch provided by the NPA.  Community service hours available.
