“The Mira Monte School Mission is to provide all students with a positive and challenging learning environment which empowers them to become responsible and productive citizens of our world.”

The nurturing atmosphere at our school is due in large part to the goals expressed in our Mission Statement and to the ongoing emphasis on character education for our students.  Our teachers encourage open and positive communication among staff and students with programs such as character trait assemblies and rewards, student leadership opportunities, and participation in community projects. 

Partners in this pursuit include our very active PTO which helps our school with financial support and school spirit.  These dynamic parents have an enormous influence on the positive atmosphere at Mira Monte.  The fundraisers they organize help offset the current district allocated budget reductions and provide the additional money needed to offer many “extras” to our students.  All family members are strongly encouraged to join this important organization.  They also have many other avenues of participation: Art Trek instruction, working with students in the classroom setting, Fall Festival, book fair, NHS Field Day, and particularly as classroom volunteers, and “Room Parents.” 

Mira Monte takes pride in the culturally diverse community we share and in the spirit of cooperation that flows through our valley.  Local service organizations and businesses continue to offer support for our programs and fundraisers, which allows Mira Monte to offer children more enrichment options.   We strive to create an instructional setting that stimulates the minds of our students, offering them an exciting opportunity to grow in a safe and welcoming haven that will encourage them to become lifelong learners.
